Catching up!

I've been pretty slow to post, so here are just a few things that have been going on with us over the past couple months...

Scott finished making our headboard and night stands... (sometime in April.. he did a GREAT job with them! I love the way they turned out!!)

We both had our birthdays in May... as well as our anniversary!

Birthday cake #1..

And cake #2 on his birthday!

We ate at one of Scott's favorite places, an Italian food place called Boccia's in Harrisville. It's delicious!!

Our Anniversary fell on a Tuesday this year so we both had to work, but we went out to dinner and a movie so still had a great night! Happy 2nd Anniversary!!!

...In June, Scott started school to become a realtor and is set to finish and begin testing to get his license July 20th. He is learning a lot and is very excited to get started! It's been fun to see his progress in the program and become more and more interested with each class.

We also went to Lake Powell in the middle of June! We had such a great time!! It was Scott's first trip there, and it had been a while for me! Such a fun and beautiful place to be! ...pictures from Powell to come soon!

Moab

About a week and half ago we got a chance to go down to Moab for the weekend! We went with some friends Tracie and Blake, who were both going there for the first time. We had such a great time!!
We got down there Friday evening and checked into the hotel and decided to go drive through Arches for a couple hours before it got dark. ...it was raining and cold but we didn't let that stop us.
Balanced Rock

Landscape Arch
Then Saturday we spent the day 4 wheeling. It was pretty cold and rainy this day also, and even snowed on us at one point, but we still had a blast!

Just getting started... still pretty clean and dry!
(notice the two hoodies... it was cold!)

Gemini Bridges
This is where we had lunch, it was at the end of the first trail we went on. ...it started snowing shortly after I took this picture.

We look good!! :) ...it was about all we could do to stay warm!

The sun is a little deceiving!

Despite the weather, we still had a very fun day!
On Sunday the weather was great! ...always seems like that's the way it goes on the day you leave to go home! We checked out and headed back to Arches to do the Delicate Arch hike and see a few of the others.

All in all it was a really fun weekend and we can't wait to go back again!

Happy Halloween....only a month late!

Halloween has come and gone...and I'm a little slow to post, but I thought the pictures were fun so I wanted to put them on!

This was costume number one for me! I was going for the zombie look from the Thriller show!

Tearsa (from work) and I.

And this was the second! Scott and I went to a party with some friends so we dressed up as 'punks'. My outfit didn't work out quite like I had wanted, I had found a hot pink and black wig to wear but I didn't end up liking the way it looked..so I just improvised! Scott looked really good though I thought. We had him grow out his beard the week before and then trimmed it down thin and I put mascara on it to help it blend in better with the wig he wore. He also wore magnet earrings and had black painted fingernails...which he painted all by himself!!

All in all it was a really fun day!

Indian Trail and Antelope Island

A few weeks back Scott and I decided to go for a hike. The only hike around here he has ever really been on is the one up to waterfall canyon...so we decided to try something new for him. I had been on the hike once before but it had been years. It's about a 5.5 to 6 mile hike, and it starts at the top of 22nd street in Ogden, and ends in Ogden canyon. We had planned on only going about half way and turning around since we didn't think we could make it 11 miles (we are a little out of shape these days...), but we got to a spot we thought was the peak and we were feeling good about ourselves so we kept going. Then what felt like another 3 miles had passed, ...probably really only a half mile or so, and we got to the point that was the actual peak of the trail. After some debate we decided to just go for it! We got to the end and realized our car was still 5 miles the other direction. We wussed out and called Brad to shuttle us back to the car! :) All in all it was a very fun day, and gave us a whole afternoon of time to spend together. We just may do some exercising before we set out on the next one!!

A few pictures from the hike..!

Just getting started....fresh and ready to go!

Scott is starting to rethink out decision after we went up a huge hill!

Next...we take on Ben Lomond..! (next summer) :)

*And then next weekend....Antelope Island!

Scott had never been to Antelope Island so we decided to take a drive out there. No strenuous activity planned this time so we figured we would be safe! ...a bit farther of a drive if we needed Brad to come bail us out again!!

Other than the stench and the water being so low...it was a very fun drive out there.

Here are just a few pictures from that day.

A lot of sand to cover before you hit the water..!

The boat docs....looks like a happening place!!
